The Economic Research Council is proud to announce that the fifth annual Clash of the Titans economic forecasting event will be held at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, and will once again be kindly supported by PwC. The Clash of the Titans events feature academics and notable alumni from the top three economics departments in the country (Oxford, Cambridge, and LSE) giving their forecasts for what will happen to the UK economy in 2016.
We track their performance over the course of the following year, and we'll announce the winner at next year's Clash. Representing LSE this year will be Rain Newton-Smith, Director of Economics at the CBI (and LSE economics graduate); representing Cambridge will be Dr Sean Holly, Director of Research in their Faculty of Economics; and representing Oxford will be alumnus Jonathan Portes, former Director of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research.
This year's event will once again by chaired by Andrew Sentance, Senior Economic Adviser to PwC and former member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, and promises to be another entertaining and informative evening.
