Meet the Committee
Introducing the 2015-2016 Energy, Environment and Resources OBN (Oxford Business Network) Committee:
Neil Yeoh – Co-Chair
Prior to Oxford, Neil worked for five years in strategy and operations management consulting in the oil and gas, renewables, utilities and government sectors. Within these sectors, he worked on a range of projects - developing asset management strategies and processes for greenfield and brownfield facilities, building the strategy plan for a renewables organisation focused on solar, wind and water energy, and implementing cost optimisation projects for a state water utility. Neil is interested in tackling the problems and educating people on the solutions for a sustainable clean energy future.

Andres Baehr - Co-Chair
Andres is a lawyer and business manager with experience in mining and oil and gas. Previous to his MBA he spent three years with BHP Billiton in Australia, where he led teams in all stages of business planning, sourcing and negotiation of major construction projects. Andres has also worked in the oil and gas sector where he implemented cost optimization solutions in logistic and maintenance. Andres holds a Master in Construction Law from Melbourne University and is interested in the synergies between renewable energies and social impact.
Akshat Agarwal – General EER Director
Akshat Agarwal has over six years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry. While working at T H Hill Associates Inc. (THH) he managed multiple complex projects in design, manufacturing and inspection across multiple geographies, and advised top oil and gas clients about their products and operations. In his tenure at THH, he also co-authored the Fourth Edition of global drilling standard DS-1 that sold over 10,000 copies worldwide and has pioneered new quality standards for drilling equipment.

Amith Rao – Conference Director
Amith is currently a full-time MBA student at Oxford after moving from Dubai. Prior to joining the MBA, he spent over seven years in the manufacturing sector for the energy industry at multinational and family owned companies working in India, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. He started as a shop floor supervisor focused on planning, project management, and quality control of manufacturing processes and then was promoted to commercial roles. As a sales and marketing lead handling geographies across Asia Pacific, Middle East, North Africa, and Europe, he focused on business development, product launches, pricing, strategic planning and implementation, and product management. Amith is passionate about implementing new strategies and process improvements for a more efficient and sustainable energy industry.

Jason Day – Communications Director
Prior to Oxford, Jason worked in Investor Relations and Public Relations in the Natural Resources industry. Based out of London, he advised businesses ranging from large cap to small cap on their communication with stakeholders including investors, financial institutions and the media. Jason’s focus was on the Oil & Gas and Mining sectors, however he also has experience advising companies in the offshore wind, natural gas and nuclear sectors. Jason is interested in understanding more about how a company’s investment proposition is impacted by its reputation and the growing importance of reputation to a company’s bottom-line.

Kareem Edwards – Finance Director
Prior to Oxford, Kareem spent five years with Oil and Gas multinational, BG Group, in a variety of roles. These include Production Operations, Production Optimization, and Capital Projects across Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom and Australia respectively. Most recently, as a member of a special operations task force, he consulted on BG Group’s US $20bn QCLNG project in Queensland, Australia. Prior to this he spent two and a half years in Trinidad and Tobago with a strong focus on natural gas production operations while managing the design and execution of several brownfield projects. Kareem holds an honours degree in Chemical and Process Engineering from The University of the West Indies and is a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). He is interested in business development of major capital projects in the conventional and unconventional natural gas industry.
